Pretty Birthday Cake for a little girl called Katie!

A Honey & Lavender 6th Birthday Cake for a little girl called Katie!

Katie's mum is a friend of another lady who bought a birthday cake through my Facebook Page 'Honey and Lavender'. She asked if I could make a cake for her daughter Katie. She actually provided an image for me to base the cake on. I loved the colours on the cake, something I wouldn't normally choose myself.

I really enjoyed making this cake, the flowers were made a few weeks ago and that meant it was easier to complete as the hardest bits were already done.

The cake was collected last night for the little girls birthday today - I hope she likes it !

End of Term & Junior School Cupcakes for the Teachers - July 2012

As the end of term approached and also the end of Junior School at Portway for Jamie, he asked if I would make some cupcakes for his teachers as Thank You presents.

His Tutor Mr Nice is a keen Lego Fan so we decided on some Lego Brick Cupcakes.

He also wanted to give some cupcakes to his other teacher, Miss Gill and the classroom assistant, so we decided on some Cath Kidston inspired Cupcakes. These we made with Lemon Buttercream.

They were all really pleased with their thank you cupcakes.

Sophie's 5th Birthday Cake

I had been asked a while ago now to make a cake for friends little girl who was 5 in July. She was having a Fairy Party at her Grandparents house with all her family and friends. The theme was Fairies and her mum Andrea had asked if I could do a Fairy Toadstool! After a lot of internet research I decided on my design, I did base it on a beautiful one I had come across on the net, so I cannot take the credit for the design only my interpretation of it. I made this one on the same day that I made Kerry's so the kitchen was very manic!

Andrea asked for a Vanilla Sponge with Chocolate Buttercream. I made two pudding basin cakes and went from there! I was very pleased with the result. The fairy was also handmade from Mexican Modeling Paste, I had made her the weekend before along with 'Kerry' the climber.

Sophie's face was a picture when she saw the cake, all that hard work was defiantly worth it....

Happy 40th Birthday Kerry!

One of my best friends, Kerry is also turning 40 this year. Her Birthday is in October, but she decided that she wanted to celebrate during the summer. A day out was planned for Saturday 21st July 2012. Kerry booked a BBQ area at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Southampton for all her friends and family. It was a fantastic day and even the rain, that had been torrential all week, held of for us. The sun shone for most of the day. A very organised BBQ was cooked for all, games were played and everyone had a great day, including all the kids.

I had decided that I was going to make her a Climbing Cake for her birthday, so when she announced that she was having a summer party, Martin said I should make the cake for then as everyone would be there.

Slight panic set in! I had already agreed to make a Fairy Toadstool Cake for a little girl called Sophie for the same day and we were also heading off to Spain on the Tuesday after the party!
Anyway, it all went fine! This is her cake and I know she was delighted when she saw it! I think she nearly cried too......

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY MARLEY!

Marley had her 1st Birthday on Thursday 26th April 2012. Mandy had asked if I would make her a Fifi and the Flower Tots Cake for the Saturday when we went over.

I had so much fun planning this cake, I made a Fifi cake for India when she was 2, 4 years ago!! And I wanted to do something different.

The cake was vanilla sponge with chocolate butter cream filling, covered in fondant icing with a fondant icing Fifi on top.

The cake was a great success and tasted great.......

Vicki's Baby Shower Cupcakes 20th May 2012

The first Baby Shower I have ever been too!! They weren't very popular in the UK when I had the boys, all those years ago! Lol!!

Anyway, Vicki's little baby boy is due on June 16th, so I think that is about 4 weeks away............so excited! Scott's mum decided to put on a Baby Shower for her so I offered to make some cupcakes. I also had a go at making some cake pops! They were a lot harder than I thought, but I think I know where I went wrong....not enough butter cream to bind the pops together. They looked ok and actually tasted nice too!

I make Lemon Cupcakes and Vanilla Cupcakes and I was pleased with the results. I'm pretty sure Vicki was too......
